Ed had been in a panic ever since he'd talked to his siblings. Apparently this morning, there had been a slight mishap in the throne room that included an evil witch, Peter, Lucy, the castle ward James, a stone girl, and to Ed's dismay, Indira. Just last night had been so wonderful, he didn't even remember about the evils of the world until they came crashing down in front of him. After a conversation with his siblings, all of whom seemed to be acting stupid, especially Peter, he had left in a wild search.
The problem was, the castle was so HUGE. The smart thing would have been to ask around, but he didn't want to get weird looks or whispers behind his back. There were enough problems going on without rumors floating around. And despite the others claiming Indira was alright, Ed still had to see her for himself just to make sure.
Another room at glance was empty. Edmund muttered a curse and continued his search, more frantic than before. Somehow if he didn't see her, she wouldn't be okay. He had to see her for himself. There was a small gut feeling that somehow knew she was okay, to just calm down and everything would be alright. But for the rest of his crazed mind it wasn't enough. He was too weathered down with worry, he felt as though if he didn't find her soon, he would be sick, or start crying or something. Finally the stress was too much that without a second thought, he called through the empty halls. "Indira!"

The morning have proved to be nothing short of a disaster. The throne room was destroyed, the witch had got in and...Indira didn't even want to begin to think about how useless she had been. But every so often - as if she wasn't allowed to forget - she could feel the traces of the witches magic. It was almost as if she was being stabbed and that semi-constant reminder was not making her mood any better. She had been completely and utterly useless. There was so little that Indira had managed to do and in the end she really didn't protect anyone. She couldn't even protect herself from that horrible woman and Indi hated it and her, more every second.
Her pride had been hurt but it was so much more than that. How could she have been so weak and if she couldn't help them now, how could she possibly help anyone in the future. If Aphine was simply a henchman how was she ever supposed to be helpful against Jadis. The answer to that question terrified her, she couldn't be. Indi had to fight back the anger that was so uncommon to her. "Do not let your emotions get the best of you my dear," he mother had instructed. But she couldn't help it here. She knew that feeling nothing would always give her the upper hand and back home that was easy, but not here.
She heard someone call her name and that voice was an instant reminder of why she wanted to badly to feel. It had been such a short period of time but she couldn't help herself. "Some things are just meant to be," her father had once said. This was one of those things, he meant so much to her. Indira took a deep breath, letting the idea of seeing Ed calm her. She could only imagine what he had heard and though he probably wasn't disappointed like she was, he probably wasn't feeling to great either. Indira rounded the corner to see him and stopped for a moment. What if had been Edmund this morning? You couldn't have saved him. You were weak. Little Ed would have died and it was all your fault. You are useless, hopeless. Your mother would be so disappointed Her father's voice was not encouraging this time. In fact it made her want to cry, but she couldn't not now. not here. She needed to be strong, or at least appear that way. For his sake.
"You called?" she asked with a weak smile.

Edmund spun around at the sound of her voice and his heart stopped. Just seeing her there was a comfort he could not describe, and his heart skipped a beat. She didn’t look hurt; and simply seeing her there made it seem impossible than anything bad had happened this morning to her, to his siblings. Her simple presence had that magical effect. But horrible things had happened, and she could have been hurt. She could have been killed and he hadn’t been there to help her, to protect her. She could have died this morning and he wouldn’t have known about it.
Swallowing hard, Ed slowly made his way down the hallway. His body wanted to run to her, and he had to use every ounce of his energy to keep from doing so and throwing his arms around her. After everything that had happened from before, he didn’t need to be making another scene. His eyes twinged slightly with the beginnings of tears as he stopped in front of her. “Indira…” He bit his lip simply looking at her. He wanted so much to cry, so thankful that she was alright. He didn’t though, not yet at least.
Instead he looked up and down the hall, not the best place to have a conversation such as this. The last thing he wanted was anyone overhearing them talk. It had been bad enough that his conversation with his siblings had been in the middle of the hall where everyone and all of Narnia could have overheard them talking. Silently he opened a side door that led to a small lounge area and peeked inside. With no one inside, he turned back to Indira. “Would you mind joining me?” he asked, standing in the doorway and holding the door open. He had a serious look on his face, and his voice was very soft, but that was mainly because he was barely holding back tears.

Seeing him made her feel better but it was clear that he wasn't feeling all that great. Not that she was feeling much better, considering everything that happened. But, everyone had a different way of dealing with situations like this. It was clear that over the years she hadn't gotten any better at it. Normally she liked to be left alone at times like these but so much had changed since she came to Narnia.
She couldn't help but notice him biting his lip, that was something that she did, not him. She didn't have to be brilliant to see what was bothering him. Indira moved forward, taking his hand trying to tell him not to worry. With all that was going on she didn't want him to be worried about her. His duty was to Narnia and she wanted to help, not make it worse.
"Edmund," she said, her smile more genuine this time. Indira wasn't really sure what to say, she was never good with situations like this. Especially considering she didn't have to deal with them very often. She wasn't really sure why it was that he looked around the hall and for a moment it made her very self conscious. Then he looked into a side room and she was really unsure of what to think. His question put her at ease, what ever insane thing she had been thinking was erased from her mind.
"Of course," she said looking over her shoulder at him as she walked though the door. "Is everything all right?" she gently questioned. Indi doubted it but she asked anyways.
