emmeline rose bethal
Name: emmeline rose bethal
Nickname: emmy, em, emily, mel, etc
Age: 17
Race: Telmarine
World: Narnia
Alliance: Aslan
Celebrity Claim: naya rivera
Looks:
Emmeline stands at around a height of 5'7", an average height for a girl of her age. Her build is rather slim, but still athletic after a month or so of running and hiding. Her arms are rather muscular, from practicing and simply using archery in what is now her daily life. As for her legs, they appear to be rather strong as well, and she happens to be quite a fast runner.
She has glossy, black hair that falls down over her shoulders in thick, messy waves. Normally she lets it fall in her face in an attempt to perhaps sometimes draw less attention to herself, but she also likes to pull it back into a braid to keep the hair up and out of her face. Her eyes appear to be a shade lighter than her hair, coming off as a very dark brown color. Further down her tanned face, she has a set of pleasantly white teeth, which are frequently masked by her pink lips (seeing as there certainly isn't much to smile about these days).
As for clothing, Emmeline likes to stick to the simplest of styles, seeing as they are what's most convenient and usually what is easiest to locate. She prefers light blue or green dresses, or sometimes even guy's clothing seeing as that's more flexible and easy to move in. For shoes, she'll take anything that gives her feet protection against the hard forest grounds.
Personality:
Emmeline is a rather spunky young girl. She's feisty and she has a bit of an attitude, but at least it's entertaining for people who choose to be around her. Well at least for the most part! Sometimes her snappy comments can get on a person's nerves, but Em either doesn't notice or she simply doesn't care. Though it's most likely a combination of both, considering she both a. is rather oblivious to things around her sometimes, and b. she doesn’t really give a damn what anyone else thinks of her. The only opinions that matter to her are the ones of her closest friends, and the ones of people who she actually feels a certain amount of respect for. Which isn't a very great amount of a people.
Despite her attitude, Em is actually a rather friendly girl. She's already got enough enemies being an ally to the Narnians, so she really doesn't wish to make any more. She'll give everyone a fair start by treating them as pleasantly as she can manage, but if they prove to be a real rude character (or simply extremely annoying) then any niceties are off. She tends to get a bit snippy with people she doesn't like, grumbling insult after insult about them. Only when she really has to play nice with them for specific reasons is she able to even pretend to tolerate them (which it still proves to be difficult for her sometimes).
Emmeline can also prove to be a bit of a klutz sometimes, which certainly proved a challenge when she was trying to escape the rule of the White Witch. She may be skillful with the bow, but besides that she can be rather clumsy. She'll trip over every other branch and rock, grumbling and blushing out of embarrassment all the while. Em is still stubbornly independent though, and she rarely lets anyone lend her a hand (even if she's in real need of it). She's not stupid, she knows that everyone needs assistance from time to time, but she still doesn't like that very much.
Despite her abandonment of her parents and their loyalty to the White Witch, Emmeline is actually very loyal to her friends and those she allies herself with. Once she picks a side, she sticks to it no matter what the outcome looks like (which makes her a great person to have on your side). So perhaps she might be a little annoying to some of her allies..but wouldn't one think her loyalty and dedication makes up for it?
Family:
marilyn bethal + mother
jensen bethal + father
History:
Emmeline was born in one of the winter months to a very loving couple, Marilyn and Jensen Bethal. She was conceived shortly after they became newlyweds, and the Bethals couldn't have been more excited about the news. They'd always wanted a little child of their own running around their small little home. However, they had been hoping for a little boy instead of a girl so at first they were, needless to say, rather disappointed. Still, they spoiled her like no other, always showering her with little presents and treats even though they could hardly afford it. They made a living off of the money that Jensen made from his job, but they were still always struggling. There even came a point when the little family almost lost their home, but they were able to keep it. However the only way they afforded it that time was by selling Marilyn's mother's old emerald necklace. Apparently family heirlooms weren't actually priceless.
As a toddler, Em was always tagging along after her mother. While her father was away selling goods in the market, Marilyn stayed behind cleaning, cooking and taking care of her daughter as best she could. Em was a bit of a handful though, even as a child without that teenage girl attidue, always running around and getting into mischief. A little too much mischief too. Often she'd manage to escape the attempted watchful eye of her mother, and she would run to play with the other kids who lived nearby. She was a supposed 'ringleader' to the kids, always leading them in games and leading them through sneaky little adventures. Adventures that usually resulted in them getting in big trouble with the Telmarine soldiers. Or at least getting Emmeline in trouble seeing as she would normally take the blame for everything so her friends wouldn't get in trouble.
The soliders started to expect these sorts of things from her though, and the friendly ones who got to know her by name tended to let her off the hook. Afterall they had more pressing matters to take care of then a little girl who got in trouble on a daily basis. Not to mention who really wanted to be the one responsible for punishing a kid? No one that's who. But usually her mother ended up with that job. The girl had to learn after all. Or at least her mother thought she did (though Em never actually learned from her mistakes or her mischief).
With a new rule broken every day, Emmeline would get a new punishment everyday. Sometimes she would get stuck washing the dishes or cleaning the house, or sometimes the lesson was, you cause mischief and you go to bed without dinner or dessert (that last one was Em's least favorite lesson). And while the punishments were dull and bothersome, she still found them worth it. Her father seemed rather annoyed with her for her troublesome nature, but her mother never seemed to mind as much (in fact, if Jensen wasn't around, Marilyn probably wouldn't have punished the girl at all).
Entering her teen years, Em's levels of mischief decreased slightly seeing as her father needed her help more now that she could actually lend a hand in the market. She helped her father sell produce, though she would occasionally give a homeless or poor little kid a handout. Her father caught her at it once, and not only slapped her across the face for it, but he also refused to talk to her for at least two weeks. They were still quite poor so they needed all the currency they could get, but Emmeline still couldn't help but help those even less fortunate than herself. Even if it meant she'd eat a little less the next night at dinner.
Besides the occasional spats with her father, Emmeline's life was enjoyable to her. Well at least until the small problems arose with the Narnians. She was actually rather intrigued by the whole thing, and she even secretly encouraged the opposing side. She’d always thought that her people had been wrong to take over their land, but she didn’t dare say it in her household. Her father was absolutely disgusted by the Narnians, and he made it very clear that them and their supporters deserved terrible punishment. Em knew her mother disagreed with her father, but just like Em she wouldn’t say a word about it, knowing how disappointed Jensen would be in her.
Only after the White Witch returned and took back the throne did Emmeline say a word to her father about the Narnians. He insisted that they be loyal to Jadis, but Em disagreed and she could tell that Marilyn was in the same boat. When her father wasn’t around, Marilyn lived in constant fear, always jumping at the slightest noise. She didn’t trust Jadis as a ruler, and she was so scared that any moment her family would be attacked, so finally Emmeline decided to mention something to her father at dinner. It had been a few weeks since Jadis had taken up rule, and Em had debated about running away like the rest of her kind for some time.
When she spoke up to her father about the idea (while her mother was away visiting a friend), he gave her the most disapproving and hateful look that she thought anyone could manage. She knew then that it was the worst mistake she could make, but it was too late to take it back. Jensen apparently valued loyalty over blood, because he walked right out of the door to report her disloyalty to Jadis’ allies. Emmeline, frozen with shock and feelings of betrayal by his actions, hesitated a few moments before she took off with a knapsack of clothing and a few weeks worth of food. She managed to find a hiding place not too far off from the land, where she had to have camped out for at least a week. Em figured that she had to kill at least enough time before she started out again, so that no one would be specifically coming after her. At least then it might possibly be easier to get away.
She knew exactly where she was headed as well. Or at least towards who. Emmeline had always felt sympathetic towards the Narnians and seeing as they were really her only good option, she was on the lookout for any one of them as she ran. Eventually she stumbled across a talking bear who grudgingly agreed to help her find some shelter. He led her in circles for a while, wary of trusting her, but after a number of days of her being only patient and kind to him, he decided that she was worthy of his trust. With that decision made, he led her to Archenland, where a number of other Narnians had taken refuge.

Roleplaying Experience: Three+ words
Sample Roleplay: From Legion, post by Maddi
Honestly, was it too much to ask that these demigod girls get a taste of fashion and not dress like they were either blind and moronic or prostitutes looking for a hand-out? Apparently so, because Maddi had already done her moral obligation and chewed out four girls for their lack of style and class. And one particularly flamboyant guy who was, in all likelihood, playing for the other 'team'. Wasn't one of those perks of playing on that team supposed to be though that you had a better taste in clothing than most guys? Obviously not for this guy, because clown colored polka dots in the fall...No, correction. Clown colored polka dots EVER. Really? I don't think so. Maddi shook her head to herself in disappointment. Well at least he had received the lecture that he had so desperately needed, courtesy of none other than Maddison herself. Oh, how she had enjoyed reducing him to a stuttering puddle of polka dots.
Smirking to herself contentedly at the thought, Maddi absentmindedly pulled her hair back into a neat ponytail. As usual she had opted to actually participate in training, unlike so many of the other descendents of Venus. While she did certainly agree that this was nothing worth breaking a nail over, it was very important..okay..kind of important. Well, okay, it was sort of, maybe, just a little, important. At least that was what part of her told herself. That little part happened to be the part that was descended from Nemesis. Revenge was only sweet if you really knew how to tear someone to shreds (verbally and physically, of course).
Sauntering over to her favorite section of the field, Maddi was nearly ready to actually start practicing on her archery. Only nearly because some little blonde brat from the Minerva barracks was currently occupying her spot. "Ahem," The older legacy cleared her throat, smiling in a sickly sweet manner. "Don't you have somewhere else you have to be? Somewhere where you won't be, oh I don't know, in my way." Her eyes had narrowed slightly, but the fake smile was still present. Which was never really a good sign, so if the girl didn't interpret the clear message of 'get the hell out of the way' and leave, then things were likely to get a little nasty.
The younger Minerva girl mumbled some unintelligable mess of words before scampering off in another direction (no doubt looking for a friendlier group of training demigods, who had more patience to deal with her). Another smirk crept onto Maddi's lips as she took up an archer's stance. Kids ages fourteen and up around here were fair game for harrassment in her opinion (and some particularly annoying kids younger than that age were acceptable as well). By that age at least they knew enough to stay the hell out of her way. At the Legion where everyone knew everyone at least by name, everyone also knew who to avoid direct interaction with. For example, if you didn't want to get beat up then you would generally avoid Remus. If you didn't want rumors being started about you then you avoided Annaleigh. And well, if you didn't want to be sent back to your cabin crying then it would probably be best to avoid Maddison. Especially if she was in a bad mood, which it just so happened that she was today.
