Evelyn Viluy
Name: Evelyn "Lupinae" Viluy
Nickname: Eve, Eva
Age: 21
Race: Magus/Witch
World: Tabluna
Alliance: Neutral -- though would lean more towards Aslan if given the choice
Celebrity Claim: Shelley Hennig
Looks:Evelyn is the perfect mixture of her mother and father, with brown hair of her father and the chocolate brown eyes and olive-toned skin from her mother. Overall, she has a reasonably small frame, though she stands at about 5'7 and has a decent height. But a lot of her height comes from her long legs, which she uses to run long distances, as she's become accustomed to doing. While she uses magic for a majority of things that she does, Evelyn does have a decent amount of lean muscle underneath her skin, and can be counted on to take care of herself.
Personality:Overall, Evelyn just comes off as a very strong-willed person, who values loyalty over all qualities. She has a good heart, or at least tries to have one, and does her best to serve justice in the best way that she can. In the end, she's just the kind of person who will always do what she thinks is right, no matter the cost to her. And combined with her stubborn attitude, it's practically impossible to dissuade her once it gets into her mind. she's just one of those girls that nobody can argue with, because in the end she almost never changes her mind. Frustrating, and it makes her hard to work with, but in the end there are a number of people who come to trust her judgement, no matter how rash she might be at times.
However, there is of course one exception to some of Evelyn's rules. And his name starts with a Cain and ends with a Brine. There's a Moonstone in there somewhere. For example, while she might always do what she feels is right, if Cain's around the only right thing she knows is to try and protect him. Save him. Whichever one works in the situation. If she ever changed her mind about anything, it would be because he suggested something potentially better. In the end, it hardly matters to Evelyn who suggested what or who wants to do what (unless you're name is Cain), because she will always do what she feels is right in her heart, and to make it plain and simple, she's someone that you don't want to cross.
Family: Mother - Kaylan {Blackwood} Viluy [deceased]; Father - Tywin Viluy [deceased]; Aunt - Tianna Viluy [48, Father's Sister]; Childhood Friend - Cain Brine [missing]
History:Evelyn, or Eve as she was called by her beloved mother and father, was born to Kaylan and Tywin Viluy. Her mother was a witch, giving Evelyn the natural aptitude for magic, and her father was a Magus, who passed on his knowledge of the magic of the earth to his only daughter, his only child. As a younger child, Evelyn spent a majority of her time inside their small home on the edge of a great forest in Drinui. Her parents hardly let her out of their sight in her early days, and kept careful tabs on her magical power, and her father made it a point to condition her as often as possible to keep her abilities in check. As a daughter of a witch and a Magus, Evelyn has a mixture of magic that can be considered exceedingly powerful and dangerous, making her parents very nervous about her and her powers.
One day, however, when she was seven, Evelyn snuck out of the house, and wandered into the forest. While there, she met a young boy named Cain. Like many young boys and girls upon first meeting, the two were complete rivals. Much to Eve's delight, in the beginning, she almost always better than Cain at practically everything. Her mother and father had come to trust their daughter, as she was only gone an hour or two a day, and they had come to realize that suppressing their child from having her proper playtime would have ended up proving more dangerous than anything. Evelyn and Cain continued to meet and play and compete, and the pair became reasonably close young friends.
However, when Evelyn was thirteen, tragedy struck. Paladins found her mother and father, and Evelyn came home one day from gathering herbs for some of her mother's mixtures (her mother was excellent with the ability to heal and knew just about every herb in the book of herbal poultices) to find Paladins ravaging her home, and her parents were practically killed before her very eyes. She ran from the scene, and in her fleeing ran into Cain, who helped her escape and found her a place to stay deep within the forest, far deeper than Evelyn had ever gone even in the six years that they'd known each other. She had absolutely no idea that one of her parents' murderers was, in fact, the father of her best friend.
One night, when Cain came to visit her, Evelyn decided to tell him something. Every person, in her belief, had a true name, a name that lied in the heart of every person because the magic they had within them. Her mother had always taught her to discern these true names, as everyone's magic was unique. And a person's magic was that person's soul. And so Evelyn told him. Moonstone. As hers, was Lupinae. Cain left that night with the promise to return. He didn't.
When Cain didn't come back, Evelyn wondered for several days if Cain was just angry with her - after all, he'd told her that he'd thought his name was cheesy. Perhaps he hadn't been satisfied, that he was so angered by that revelation that he had decided their friendship was no longer worth having? Evelyn dismissed the thought almost the second it came into her mind, and so after a day or two more of pondering, Evelyn decided to either seek Cain out or find some kind of help. In a way, she did both. She discovered that Cain had been taken to the Tower of the Paladin. He would train there until a fully fledged soldier. Evelyn to this day will never admit how many long hours she cried after finding out the news. The poor girl had only just lost her parents, and now she discovered that not only had she lost her best friend, but her best friend was learning somewhere to hate her. Feeling completely and utterly alone, Evelyn went to seek out her Aunt Tianna, who lived on the Isle of Una. She actively taught children the way of the earth magics, and so Evelyn thought perhaps she could learn things from her beloved auntie.
She trained there with her aunt for a few years, until she was 18. Evelyn learned while with her Aunt Tianna that, as the daughter of both a witch and a Magus, she had magic deeply rooted in her veins, which made her both very powerful and dangerous (as her parents had known but had never told her). With magic that potent, her aunt warned, it was possible for a person to potentially either go insane or lose themselves in the magic. Ever since hearing that, it has been the one thing that Evelyn has been terrified of.
Paladins attacked later that month, and among them was Cain, or Moonstone. She almost killed him before she recognized him, and that night she sought him up and they spoke. To be honest, he'd nearly given her a heart attack that day, seeing him as a Paladin, and she couldn't believe that he'd betray her in such a way. She could hardly believe him, and it took a good deal of convincing on his part to even let her hear him out. Evelyn, seeing the futility in his efforts, offered him a place at her side. To runaway together. But he turned her down, and Evelyn couldn't deny that the rejection hurt, because she saw his vision as impossible. She left him that night.
And so over the next year or so, Evelyn did all she could to forget about Cain Brine. She immersed herself in her magic, always careful to not overextend herself. She traveled over to the mainland of Tabluna and actively began training those with the Magus magic near Vi, just as her Aunt did on Una. Evelyn did not fear Paladin retribution, in fact when it finally came, she relished in it. During the battle, she was cornered by two Paladin, unafraid to die for her cause, when she was saved by none other than the very one she'd given up on - Cain. His actions stirred something in her, and when the two were captured and taken to Castle Ryin, she suddenly found herself not wanting to die, and not wanting Cain to get hurt either.
So the night before her execution, Evelyn did something that she had never done before. She allowed herself, briefly, to touch that magic deep within her and break out. Literally. She had felt the magic surrounding her cell, but Aunt Tianna had told her that, in the end, there was almost no magic in any world as potent as hers. The combination of witch and Magus blood was one of the most powerful combinations there was, next to what would become of a Magus and a Paladin having a child. But that night, Evelyn did something else, almost by instinct. She saved Cain as well.
But, of course, someone noticed that they were gone before long, and in the chase Cain and Evelyn became separated. A Paladin guard was hot in pursuit of her, and when Evelyn came upon a pond, she became trapped, and had spun around to face her attacker. Having caught her of guard, the Paladin had swiped at her with his longsword, and Evelyn shrieked in surprise and fell backwards in an attempt to avoid the blow. She fell back into the water, and when she woke up, she was in a strange world without Cain, and without the Paladin guard.
Evelyn has been in Narnia for the gods and goddesses and the Powers that Be only know how long, attempting to find Cain. However, it's proved rather difficult and it seems as though this Narnia place certainly has its own problems.
