Evelyn Viluy certainly wasn't one who was unaccustomed to exploration. As a younger Tablunian, she often spent her time exploring, seeking out adventure and the like just for the sake of living on the edge, as her father called it. Ever since stumbling out of that pond to find herself completely dry and in an entirely new world, Evelyn felt as though she had been doing nothing but exploring. For the first few days, she'd thought that maybe she had simply found herself on a new island in Tabluna, but... as a child, Evelyn had studied the geography of her island home country, and none of the islands were this large. The mainland, perhaps, but even then... it was hard to believe. But then again, it was hard to believe that she had fallen into another world, but it certainly made more sense.
For example, back home in Tabluna, there were no talking animals. Paladins were everywhere, practically crawling like ants throughout the forests, searching for Magi such as herself, and yet here Evelyn hadn't seen one Paladin yet. Everything seemed to have a solemn air about it, though nobody had told Evelyn what was happening in this world yet. The only names she heard on a normal basis were of this group called the Pevensies and of some cruel leader who went by the name of the White Witch. She sounded a bit like the High Paladin, and so automatically her name seemed to make Evelyn frown. But other than that, everything seemed... well, perfect, in this new world. As of now, she was trying to find a way back to Tabluna, though she hardly wanted to return back to a world where she would be persecuted and hunted down, but there were so many people who needed her help.
If she could just find a way back, and then bring as many Magi as she could manage back here to this place... it would be perfect. Evelyn could help establish a peaceful Magi colony here, without fear of the Paladins and their kin to hunt them down. It would be a dream come true, certainly. But realistically, Evelyn could hardly imagine getting back to Tabluna anytime soon.
She had come across this ruin just the day before, and had decided to stick around here for a while. It was a beautiful place, overlooking the ocean and all, with a beach down below... in fact, Evelyn could picture herself living here for the rest of her life. She'd be perfectly content, alone, spending her days working with her magic in an attempt to find if there was a way to control herself better. Exploring, hunting, simply living... Oh, this place was far more wondrous than anywhere she had ever encountered. And she loved it here. Perhaps she could befriend a talking owl, or a talking fox, find some kind of companion in this world. As she was sure that she would never see Cain Brine ever again, she had to find some way to entertain herself, a friend as he had once been. After all, how could it ever be that he had managed to find his own way to this place? The only thing that she could hope for was that he hadn't been caught back in Tabluna.
She prayed for him every night, though there was no knowing if any deities could hear her from this world. She could only hope that, yes, they could, and that they would heed her prayers. While she certainly disagreed with Cain on a variety of subjects, she still wished for his safety and health. But then Evelyn sighed. None of that was really in her hands anymore, now was it? As she looked around at the ruins that current nearby residents called 'Cair Paravel', she realized that she was in a new world. And she was sure that she was going to like it.
