This was the best place EVER! Whist bounded around the clearing, finding every nook and cranny to stick his nose or paw into. This place was great! He hopped up onto a rock – albeit a rock that was some five feet up – and looked around, long round tail swishing to and fro excitedly. The young snow leopard cub had been traveling after leaving his mother and service with the Witch for… well he forgot how long. He wasn’t really good at telling time. The point was, he was free. And now to top it off he found this big clearing with lots of fun stuff to climb and jump on and run around. It was like a cherry on the Monday! Whatever that phrase meant. He’d never tried a cherry before and wasn’t sure what it had to do with days of the week, but that didn’t stop him from being roughly the happiest little snow leopard in Narnia. He let out what he considered a triumphant and majestic roar, which in reality was more of a “rah” in a pathetic little voice.
Content with his display of ownership over this amazing little playground he was going to dub… well, he’d get back to that, he set off jumping around it again. There were so many places to run. He tried climbing one of the trees, failed completely, and half fell back down, only managing to flip to land on his feet at the last minute. He looked around to see if anyone had seen his heroic landing. He didn’t see anyone. Possibly better that way, because that would entail them having seen his failure first. Whoops. He bounded off back to his initial rock. This was officially unofficially his new special throne over all of this awesome place that would be much more awesome as soon as he came up with a name for it. And it would be the best name ever! But for now! He jumped back down and headed full-tilt for the tree again. This would work!!
That was roughly when he noticed the thing. It was possibly the best and most awesome thing that he’d seen in a long time. But it was also invading his shiny new playground. And he couldn't have that! In the most unceremonious way possible, he came to a skidding halt, his fur going to stand on end as he circled the object in question. And considering he was young and a snow leopard, meaning his fur coat was considerably thicker than most wild cats, the action made him look like a tiny moving white and black puff ball with a really long really, really puffy tail. He sized up his formidable prey as he continued to circle, moving closer once or twice and immediately hopping back. Finally he flattened himself against the ground, which was only so effective with his vibrant white and black fur still puffed out against the tall grass and dirt. He was about as stealthy as an elephant running with a limp. But he did his best. His fluffy rear end wiggled as he wound up for the attack. With paws as big as his face leading the way, claws out ready to pierce his prey.
The leaf didn’t stand a chance.
Whist, however, did not stay to see the results of his attack. Instead he went as fluidly as an avalanche of ice cubes from tackling the innocent unsuspecting leaf into rolling, righting himself, clumsily getting to his feet, and breaking into a run again. Within seconds he was back at it. With another run across the leaf for good measure, he dashed up the tree, successfully making it a whole three feet off the ground. He turned his head to look over his shoulder at the leaf, sitting innocently on the ground where he’d left it. Haha! Victory!

Today, Emmeline had taken her adventuring out of the capital Anvard a step further...Or a couple of miles further, if some bratty twerp wanted to get all technical and picky about it. Which more than likely, they did. But oh well, too bad, she was already far enough away from Anvard to hear about it. Or to hear about the fact that she really shouldn't be venturing so far away from the Narnian refugee camps. Which she guessed she really shouldn't have been doing, but since when did Em ever do anything that she was supposed to? Was she supposed to light the kitchen on fire in Cassy's kitchen? Was she supposed to act as unladylike as she did? Was she supposed to ditch her family for the Narnians? Yeah, well that should give anyone an idea of how often she did things she wasn't supposed to. And fortunately for her, she usually got away with doing these things. Either she was really crafty, or everyone else just lacked enough functioning brain cells to notice. She'd go with the first suggestion though, because it made her look good.
As she wandered-or stumbled-through the part of Narnia which they called the Dancing Lawn. Dancing Lawn...Em really thought that the name made the place sound more dramatic and amazing than it truly was. Disappointing, really. The only really interesting thing about it was-well, actually Em had yet to discover it. Or so she realized as she stumbled upon the first sign of life-well besides those damn plants that she kept tripping over.
She probably would have walked right on past the area without noticing anything special if she hadn't heard the pathetic little attempt at what she thought was supposed to be a full-blown roar. At first she assumed that for once her bending of the rules had finally gotten her in some sort of real trouble, but then it occured to her that it was doubtful that any of the White Rhymes-with-Witch's wolves were out wondering this far away. Plus the wolves tended to sound a little....fiercer..and well, let's admit it, pissed off. They had a rather nasty attitude about them, she remembered from when she had been making her own little escape from them. Apparently they weren't up-to-date on their manners.
Shaking away the pictures of the gnashing teeth, Emmeline decided to take a peek around one of the thick tree trunks to investigate. Close enough to get a good look, but far enough away to make a break for it if the situation called for it. What she saw though just made her either, want to double over laughing or, keel over from the adorableness that was certain to cause her to stop breathing. She settled for something in the middle, however, for health reasons obviously. An uncontrollable grin had snuck its way onto her face and she couldn't seem to cover it back up. Who could blame her though? This little snow leopard was trying to kill her with its cuteness, she just knew it! Perhaps that should've been Jadis' new strategy, using cuteness as a weapon, because it was certainly effective (at least in Em's case).
Covering her mouth to stifle a laugh, Emmeline allowed herself a moment to compose herself before she ventured out into the open area. The small leopard was now clinging to a tree trunk, with its intense little eyes fixated upon the poor, abused leaf. "I think you showed it who's boss, Captain Marvelous." She would've preferred the term 'Captain Cuteness', but most of the Talking Beasts she'd met so far weren't fond of being called cute or adorable. She still couldn't fathom why though, since it was clearly a compliment, especially coming from her. Technically she wasn't even clear on whether or not this leopard was a Talking Beast, seeing as some were still completely wild. But it was worth a shot...Plus even if she was talking to a random animal, at least no one was around to witness her insanity (that was probably a first). "Quite impressive, though may I ask? What did that poor guy do to you?" She supressed a giggle, as she clapped her hands in appreciation for his impressive feat of taking down a tree leaf.
