Menke
Name: MenkeAslan!
Nickname: Sneaky (as some have used due to her stealth skills)
Age: Human Equivilent 20, so for a Talking Beast...two years or such? (don't they age slower?)
Race: Talking Beast; Cat
World: Narnia
Alliance:
Looks: Is the typical gray colored Russian Blue cat, same as any other talking or none, and her eyes are green, again common. Yet along with the look of intelligence in them, Menke's eyes also sometimes look blue depending on the light. Most often holding good posture and seen with her tail up, if walking, her coat is kept relatively clean for a creature living in woods. Overall, her gaze gives the impression of kind and fun but also knowing amd not likely to be fooled easily.
Personality: A kind and caring creature, Menke looked after whatever smaller Talking Creatures she could during the time of hiding. She finds it hard to escape that type of arrogance cats are known for, and thus, does think herself a bit good at skills such as sneaking about and ease dropping (which she does do rather well). She's been known to make a point of it, before reminding herself to be humble and taking back said statements.
Also, going off a cat's talent, she is extra good at being quiet due to the necessity of her hiding while such was needed.
While struggling with arrogance herself, at times, she still holds that she was never as bad as a certain mouse and finds Reepicheep's arrogance to be particularly annoying and has many times had to curb the thought of what a lesser, dumb animal would do to him, though these thoughts are all in fun and she would never hurt another loyal member of Aslan's party.
She is also playful and fun loving and has a pretty good sense of humor (which she proves by, again, surviving Reep being...how he is). Holds an affinity for tales of old, especially of the Kings and Queens and does so even now with them returned!
Family: Does not recall the name of her parents, or even much on her father, but does vividly remember her mother's presence as a young kitten when she protected her and taught her from an early age to hide herself and of Aslan and the Golden Age (tales her mother herself only heard of passed down)
History: Being born in the midst of a need of hiding, and after the kitten's father had already been lost to Telmarine guards, Menke's mother no doubt made an extra point of suckling the young kitten on tales of Narnia's grandeur as much as she did on milk.
Menke would often ask for tales of The Great and Majestic Aslan to be repeated. Once, as still quite a young kitten, saying how much she was looking forward to being there if the Great Lion did return, since "being cats too, we're bound to be more loved, right mom?".
She was chastised, though gently, for this; her mother reminding her again that, first off, the Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve were higher than even the Talking Beast, and second that there was and would be no favoritism with Aslan among his Creatures.
Through the tales, though, Menke grew up with an inclination to optimism that was sometimes at odds with the attitude of those around her, yet she often and semi-stubbornly clung to her ideas on Narnia once being great under the Kings and Queens of old and being great again, no doubt!
Once she grew into adolescence, and shortly after her own mother's passing, she began sneaking over to the castle to spy out what news she could of Miraz for the other Talking Beasts, and to help them keep well hidden. This trend continued, and she got even more stealthy at it, as she passed on into "full adulthood".
When Prince Caspian was discovered by Nickabrik and Trumpkin, she was one of the crowd calling for his being allowed a chance, and feels even now that she wasn't wrong, not really. After all, he brought the Kings and Queens of old back, and that counts for something rather big!
An eager and loyal participant and subject for whatever any of the five monarchs needed while ignoring arguments between them, she was elated when she could talk the Kings into allowing her to come on the raid despite her size (after all with Reep there they had little argument against her), and took some pleasure in clawing some of the guards she had had to remain under due to fear.
The only time she endangered the mission herself was when she got into a "discussion" with Reepicheep in the hallway that threatened to get too loud, stating that, Dumb or not, the cat in the castle needed to be untied because it was just a huge blow to pride for him to be tied up by a mouse and it was downright cruel of the little twerp to do it!
Thankfully she was persuaded to let it drop by others of the team and they moved on.
She is currently exploring and finding she rather likes this new, Archenland territory, though the thought of just leaving their home under the White Witches control doesn't sit well and she daily struggles with impatience. She knows and trust all will come right, though, through both the Kings and Queens and Aslan.
Your Name/Nickname: Annie
Roleplaying Experience: 9+ish, though maybe 5 serious.
Sample Roleplay: (Well, hey it pertains to cats too, here's the first starter of a puss in boots rp idea I tried to get up once. It's based off the kittens in a short of his, that's who the Timmy is, one of those kittens)
Timmy, also known as Sir Timoteo Montenegro The Third, crept forward. His very own mentor, Senor Puss in Boots, had given him that title, saying it would carry him through all, and he wanted to prove that it would. Wanted to prove that the legendary cat was right in putting faith in him and his siblings.
Peering around a corner, Timmy scanned left and right. No sign yet of the horrible Ogre that had invaded the princess' castle. He felt his small paws grown clammy as he proceeded on down the corridor. Where were Perla and Gonzalo anyway! As hechmen his brother and sister had always been there for him, why now, as royal guards, were they leaving him to wandering a hallway alone! What kind of team work was this anyway!
Taking in a breath, the kitten reminded himself that his siblings had the very important job of protecting the princess and that he had agreed to come scan about for the "threat". So what? They knew he was a bit behind most times, he hadn't realized what he was volunteering for!
Timmy drew his wooden sword, wondering now why royal guards had wooden swords, as they were quite ineffectual...
A roar sounded out behind him and he turned. Spotting nothing, the horrible idea occurred to him that he would have to go investigate and actually find the noise, as any good guard would do.
Swallowing, Timmy walked back down the hallway to do just that and hunt down this beast in their castle.
Lifting a candle from against the wall, he gave a small mew into the darkness of a room and shone his light inside. Instantly it clattered to the floor, thankfully extinquishing itself and not catching anything on fire.
Wooden sword dropping, the young kitten scrambled backwards, then recalled he needed his sword and picked it back up as the giant form stepped out of the shadows.
(Hehe, and using this one, I leave you hanging, sorry 'bout that
