The young spaniel with light brown and white patches scowled, "Why that smart little...you're not dying at all!" he gave the tree before him, the very healthy, fully growing, tree before him an annoyed kick with one of his back feet; for live trees something one would hardly feel really.
Young Pip realized his folly and misplaced annoyance straight off though, "N-not that I want you to be" he went on to assure the tree, just in case he was talking to one of them that talked back, or worse it had a spirit associated with it...or wait was that the same thing? Even a Talking Beast of Narnia wasn't sure. Pip also wasn't sure what other form a tree this big would take...but he was fairly sure of one thing, he didn't want to anger it.
"It's just, this raccoon a ways back told me a tree over here was horribly decaying and needed me to inform the kings and queens of it immediately, and I'd just put down my sack with biscuits in it so I had to rush off and leave it and...".
As the reason for the raccoon's trickery hit Pip's mind, the pup scowled again. "Why that little...I'm startin' to think maybe I should go give him the treatment such pests are suppose to get from dogs..." he said, turning an annoyed glance back from the way he'd come.
Pip charged off, intent on doing just that! He dodged and weaved his way throughout the clearing only sparsely covered by trees here and there, "Why when I catch up to him...", despite the words, the threat only help as much danger as any other angered young boy's would. He was more likely to tussle the young thief to the ground and give him harsh words and perhaps a box here and there than he was actually bite or try to really harm him.
The pup continued on speeding down the clearing, until tripping over a root and sending his own tiny self tumbling. Pip stood and shook off, most of his annoyance lost now too; he couldn't help squinting at the root and tree it belonged to though, wondering if any of that had been on purpose...

(ooc: Me: *pops in with a squirming Tenus in my arms* Hi. Tenus: Help! I'm being held against my will!!) What in the world made Tenus wake up at morning? He wasn't sure what, but at the moment he was blaming that raccoon... Tenus the Barn Owl had woken up not long ago, but when he first opened his eyes to sunlight, he immediately sealed them once more, but for some odd reason, his eye-lids shot right back up. So, thinking that flying around would help him sleep, Tenny hopped out of his nest and glided away. But that didn't work, so he just threw his anger upon an unfortunate raccoon eating a biscuit. But now, he grouchily watched a Talking Dog trip over a root, "Stupid, clumsy mutt..." Tenus's voice was a mixture of a hiss and a whisper.

((ooc: I foresee arguments coming for some odd reason Will definitely be interesting however this goes )) Pip continued watching the root for a few seconds and had just satisfied himself that it wasn't attached with any type of dryad or such when his canine hearing picked up the hiss of a voice. He didn't quite catch the words, just more the fact that someone had spoken. Glancing about he soon spotted a likely source though, an owl was perched on a nearby tree. "Oh, hello there" Pip greeted with a smile, "No worries, I wasn't attacking your tree or anything" he assured, "If it even is your tree, you can never tell with alot of them being alive and thus belonging to themselves" Pip went on almost just thoughtfully. His mind had been completely diverted from the earlier mission of finding and confronting the smart little raccoon to have tricked him so, since for one he hadn't been too serious about that and two, well he supposed the fact that he forgot fit in with reason one again. Now he was back to recalling the reason he was out in the woods in the first place. "Well, I should stop talking and probably just bugging you" Pip went on, turning, "Gotta get back to my spy work looking for clues in...well certain dangers to have recently cropped up" Pip dodged a bit. He meant by 'spying' what most human boys around his age would have, a self initiated, self employed type spy work that looked a lot like playing most days but had full-hearted intentions. "Now, let's see if any of these trees smell evil" Pip started sniffing again around the same clearing he was standing in, unaware he'd already unofficially found and been talking to a minion such as he searched for.

(ooc: XD Sorry it took me awhile to reply when you were on. -__- I was reading stuff.)
BIC: Tenus rolled his eyes. "Whatever, fool..." He whispered as Pip went off. But then, something hit him. "Spying"!? Did that Dog say "spying"!? The owl thought with a short gasp. What if that Dog's against her Majesty and spying on us for that cursed Lion!? The Barn Owl thought as he swooped down onto the grass. Tenny knew that he was probably just exagerating, but you had to give Aslans followers SOME credit, they were clever. And who knew-maybe they WOULD send in some clumsy pup to do spying...No one would ever be the wiser!!
In the back of his mind, the Owl felt he waas dead wrong. But just in case, Tenus flapped his tawny wings and cuaght up to Pip. Gently, Tenny landed on Pips back, "That wasn't my tree, just so you know. I was just taking a roost to rest my wings..." He stated casually. "So, Pup, my name is Tenus, and you?"
(ooc: I'm not sure if Pip would be strong enough to carry a full-grown Barn Owl, but I have no idea how much barn owls way, so...I'm gonna guess their light-weight. -_- )

((ooc: Oh no rush, don't worry and well Pip's not a puppy puppy, he'd be about pre-teen-ish so maybe he could pull it off))
Pip turned, startled but not in any type of worried sense, as the owl landed on his back. "Oh" the pup answered back, also just casually carrying the conversatinon, "Well that's good" he smiled, "I'd hate to have attacked your personal tree or anything. Oh name's Pip by the way" he smiled and then chuckled, "So you were half almost right with my name when you called me pup".
The slight question of why this owl suddenly decided to tag after him did hit Pip's mind, but he figured it must have something to do with how he'd said he was spying out information. This owl probably wanted to help with that.
The pup continued walking, taking them through the trees of the dancing lawn.
"So, Tenus, have you done much spying yourself?" Pip asked after a bit, "I mean, I understand that since Narnia's been peaceful for a while now there may not have been much of a reason, but...well before that, ya any good at it yourself?".
This was mainly still just conversation, even if his companion, adult though he may be, proved to stink at spying, Pip wasn't going to just ditch him in the forest or anything; still, if he knew pointers on the subject himself, could prove useful, Pip figured.

Tenus stared coolly at Pip, not showing any emotion to the joke about how close pup was to Pip.
"Spying? Me?" The Barn Owl said as he looked up at the sky, deciding that he might as well answer the Dog. He remember once had listened in on a bully and his friend talking about going to a birthday party, and he had done pretty well until he tried to fly away. "Well...there was one time, when I was an owllet. But they cuaght me when I was trying to leave." The Owl stated with a shrug as he adverted his eyes back onto Pip.

Pip nodded, "Ah, well that's ok I'm kinda not very good at it myself" the pup admitted.
"I mean, I do ok" he went on, feeling the need to defend himself a bit, "and I bet I could find the witch or her minions just like that" Pip lightly brought down a foot in place of a snapping of fingers gesture.
The fact that he was actually right and had found a minion would have been to the dog's credit had he realized what he'd found.
Pip lowered his voice, "but maybe I shouldn't say that so loud, they say the trees can hear ya" the pup glanced about with what was almost a type of paranoia, though he wasn't that scared, just cautious.
"Hey a branch!" Pip noticing something up ahead broke his concentration and he skipped over to it, stopping by and sniffing at the item.
"Hmm..." he sniffed again, "Nope, not alive, this was just a normal branch, false alarm" he told Tenus, smiling up at the owl.

Tenus's eyes turned into slits as he listened to Pip say that he could find the Witch and/or her minions "just like that". Then suddenly, the Dog began to skip, surprising Tenus, and he was just about to fly off when Pip stopped to sniff a twig. Not wanting another spell like that again, Tenny gracefully fluttered onto the grass. So, my notion was right! The Owl thought with a glare at the stick. "You know, Pip, maybe we should team up...As they say, 'two are heads are better then one'..." Tenus whispered, his voice cold as ice.

Pip had turned his gaze back to the stick, just checking again, when Tenus' words caught his attention once more.
The pup glanced up, team up? "Oh, well uh...sure" Pip said with a small smile, "I kinda thought that was why you were tagging along in the first place" he smiled.
The smile faded a bit at the harsh tone the words held and...well, just something in the way the eyes were slanted. Even Pip couldn't have told you if he was suspicious or just curious, but eitherway the young pup was miles and years from the type of discerning power Mr. Beaver and such had with looking 'about the eyes' of any creature.
Almost forcing the smile again, to almost force his own unsureness down, Pip went on, "Uh, so...if we're a team now, I guess we should come up with some sort of official plan, huh?" he added, maybe since he felt this owl being older could mean he could think he was in-charge, where as Pip was thinking actual partners and 'holding his own' once more.
"Y-yeah" the pup went on, "Like you fly on ahead or something and cover the sky while I'm on the ground. That could work out quite good!"

Tenus smiled at Pip, his eyes dark. "Yes...that would be just fine, Pip." He turned around to luanch into the air before looking behind his shoulder at the pup, "And I'll make sure to watch your back...partner..." With that said, Tenny soared into the open air, not bothering to look in any other direction beside below, at Pip, but he tried to hide it.

Pip gave a nod and then a small smile, bounding after the general direction of Tenus' flight and sniffing along the ground, he still wasn't really picking up anything, and the thought that maybe he was in the wrong spot kept coming back to haunt him, yet...
He just had this feeling he was on the right track, or a track of some kind and that he shouldn't give up, so he kept on.
"Hmm, could be something..." Pip glanced up from smelling the ground and scrutinized the direction off to his right, he still wasn't sure how 'right' it was, but suddenly took off into the tree cover that way and outside of the clearing. He still listened for Tenus' screech if he found anything, though.

Tenus flinched as Pip hurried into the cover of the tree. With a hiss, the Barn Owl flew down into the tree-limbs. "PIP! PIP!" Tenny continued flying downward, until finally he was out of the foliage, and in the direction of Pip. With a growl he landed a few feet away from the Dog's nose, "What was that, Dog!? Tryin' to get away, eh!?" The Owl snarled, until realising what he said, "From your job, I mean..." He glared at the grass darkly.

Pip started back a bit, just to stop in time to not run into the owl, as he flapped down to join him on the ground just before his nose. With that still shocked look, the dog listened to the very harsh tone of the first part of Tenus' statement before the owl seemed to let up.
"W-well no..." the pup began, a bit thrown by the owl's nature, again.
Once more, he just pondered and moved on, or tried to; that small poke of...not doubt, yet, he didn't think; but an unnamed question in the pup's mind nonetheless, was harder to get rid of this time.
"I just thought I smelled a clue through here" Pip went on, keeping his gaze on the owl, who's gaze was down. He looked up and about to scan again, "like the scent of a wolf or something...", while still scanning, Pip couldn't help glancing back to Tenus to see what kind of reaction such a possibility might cause.
Even he wasn't sure why exactly, or what he was looking for; and even though he spoke the truth and it was the possible scent of a wolf, animals half the time up to not good, that had sent him this way, he now doubted if he was on the right track after all.

Tenus was aware that Pip was thrown off by his out-burst, but the Barn Owl wasn't the type to apologize, or even bother to think that it was wrong to yell. Tenny blinked at the Dog, "A wolf, eh?" He thought out-loud before a smirk dawned on his peanut-brown beak, "Hmmm...sounds...intresting, Pip. How about this, since you've picked up the scent of a wolf, we should go by ground. If you find a really fresh scent, like perhaps only ten minutes old or something like that, I'll fly off to get an arial view of him or her, that way we can find a more easier way to apprehend it!" Tenny said with a wink before pointing his wing forward, "Onward, my young Hound!"

As Pip watched the owl's face for signs of a reaction to this, his companion didn't seem to thrown, at least not defensively thrown, and any inclination to doubt was now starting to reverse with a twinge of guilt.
Tenus was also coming up with a very good plan and offering to help. Pip nodded as the owl went on, saying he should go by land and Tenus cover him from the ground, a lot like what they had been doing, only this time in more of a chase.
Pip gave an eager bark and turned to sniff out and seek out the scent once more, reinvigorated by the thought of back up in all of this. Yes, if he really was on the scent of a wolf, even a pack of wolves, of the Witch's army, he and Tenus would defeat them together!...or at the very least inform someone of them together.
"I-I'm still not sure" the pup all but warned, in case this was just a futile dead end; then, hoping, really hoping, it wasn't, yet at the same time being ok with it not being such and there not being wolves about making trouble for the Witch, he took off following the direction the scent seemed to come from and searched out another...
((ooc: Even I don't know if Pip really found anything, but I figure we can take this where we will, even to NPC wolves or something if we wanted, ))
